The Platform

THE FARR
DESIGN

Originally conceived by a group of Thai businessmen and designed by Bruce Farr specifically for the waters of the Gulf of Thailand. The Platu 25 was the first in the line of boats that include the Mumm 30 (Farr30), Farr 40, Corel 45 and more. The first 28 boats were built in New Zealand by McDell Marine and delivered to Thailand in March 1995. The Platu 25 success caught the attention of renowned boat builder Beneteau, who began manufacturing the Platu 25 in Europe building over 600 boats and world championships hosting more than 100 boats. Since 2008, the original moulds and rights have been held by Xtreme Sailing Products (XSP) of Singapore.

Here in Pattaya, the tradition of sailing is deeply rooted, with the Platu fleet currently being restored to its former glory. With 11 boats currently on the hardstand ready to race and more boats on the way.
